Obrázky z cizí Wikipedie
Dobrý den,
předem se omlouvám, nenašel jsem lepší místo pro položení otázky.
Sepisuji článek o "20/20" kvalitě zraku, k čemuž patří illustrační obrázek očařské tzv. Snellenovy tabulky. Takový obrázek už existuje v anglické verzi textu, ale ať jsem kombinoval jak jsem kombinoval, nepodařilo se mi správně sestavit příkaz, kterým bych propojil anglický obrázek do české verze článku.
Připadá mi jako plýtvání místem, abych obrázek nejprve stáhnul z anglické verze za účelem následného uploadování do české. Nebo to vážně jinak nejde?
Mohla by prosím ambasáda a/nebo administrátor Wikipedie přidat do nápovědy, nejlépe do kapitoly o obrázcích, názorný příklad, jak si přitáhnout obrázek? Pokud bych mohl také poprosit o zprávu mně, bylo by to báječné.

- odpovídám, neb se na to akorát dívám. Skutečně je třeba napřed stáhnout a pak zase nahrát, což je lepší už i proto, že by se u toho měl udělat český popis (údaje o licenci lze převzít z en:).
- Nedávno tu proběhla zpráva, že je možné používat společné úložiště (dostupné ze všech jazykových verzí), ale nemohu k tomu najít žádný popis...

- Ano, je to tak. Popis žádný zatím není. Alespoň stručně:
- Asi 14 dní funguje projekt Wikimedia Commons (WikiCommons, http://commons.wikimedia.org/ ), který slouží jako společné úložiště obrázků (a jiných zdrojů) používaných v projektech nadace Wikimedia. Pokud máte nějaký obrázek, který má mezinárodní význam, lze očekávat, že by ho šlo využít i v jinojazyčných Wikipediích (a jiných projektech), pak je jeho pravé místo na WikiCommons.
- Takže správný postup je:
- Podívat se na commons:, zda tam už daný obrázek není.
- Pokud ano, pak na něj lze normálně odkázat, jako by byl nahrán do české Wikipedie. Např.
[[Soubor:Fiscal Roquevaire 27-02-1886 MM.jpg]]. - Pokud ne, pak v ideálním případě místo na českou Wikipedii nahrát obrázek na WikiCommons (to se samozřejmě netýká obrázků, které jsou ryze lokální záležitostí). Bohužel nelze odkazovat soubory v jinojazyčných verzích, pouze ty na WikiCommons. (K nahrání obrázku je třeba mít na WikiCommons samostatný účet, přihlašování dosud funguje na každé wiki odděleně.)
- Zapracovat tuhle myšlenku do nápovědy se chystám, jenom jsem si na to dosud nějak nenašel čas...

- Jo, to bych bral, kdybych mohl zkopírovat obrázek z cizí wiki a uložit ho na naší se stejnou licencí, jenže když to udělám, hned se to někomu nelíbí a už maže. Jak to mám udělat, když jsou v cizině líní to dát na commons?--Riscia 16:18, 19. 4. 2007 (UTC)
- Ehm, odpovídat na dva a půl roku starou diskusi…
- Pokud je obrázek na jiné wiki s nesvobodnou licencí (s licencí neuvedenou na Wikipedie:Šablony licence souborů, resp. commons:Commons:Licensing), tak to udělat nelze vůbec, takové obrázky tady nechceme a nejsou zde (ani na Commons) dovoleny. Pokud má obrázek svobodnou licenci a na Commons opravdu dosud není, pak jej musíte stáhnout k sobě na počítač a nahrát na Commons sám (nebo v horším případě sem), případně k tomu lze využít CommonsHelper.

- Já na tu diskusi narazil náhodou, vim, že je to starý. Díky za tip, tak nějak jsem to udělal. Podle Italů je to svobodná licence. Co mám teda dělat, abyste mi jí nesmázli. Můžu nosource odstranit sám (Battisti.jpg;Battisti1.jpg;Battisti2.jpg;Battisti3.jpg)?--Riscia 12:31, 20. 4. 2007 (UTC)

Kontaktní osoby pro jednotlivé jazyky
Tak se zamýšlím nad tím, jestli by na našem Velvyslanectví neměly být uvedeny kontaktní osoby pro jednotlivé jazyky. Kontaktní osobou nemusí být nutně správce, ale člověk, který zde přece jenom působí více měsíců a ne jen občasně, takže má jisté zkušenosti a je schopen jasně, nezkresleně vysvětlit problém oběma směry, tedy jak česky, přijde-li požadavek zvenku, nebo příslušným jazykem, je-li nutné kontaktovat někoho z jiné jazykové verze. Už zde byly například požadavky z polské Wikipedie, z nichž někteří se snaží psát anglicky, protože nevědí, že zde jsou lidé, kteří vládnou polštinou. To samé se může týkat francouzštiny, španělštiny, ruštiny, čínštiny (kdy jsme naopak my měli potřebu ptát se na nějakého čínského uživatele) atp. Kontaktní osoba pro daný jazyk nemusí být jedna, ale na druhou stranu by jich neměla být přehršel.
Organizační zajištění je možné dvěma způsoby - buďto vyhradit každému jazyku vlastní podstránku podle vzoru [[Wikipedie:Velvyslanectví/English]], [[Wikipedie:Velvyslanectví/Deutsch]], nebo přímo na diskusní stránce oné kontaktní osoby, aby byla upozorněna černým nápisem na žlutém pozadí, že jí přišla zpráva: [[Wikipedista diskuse: Bedřich Hrozný#Kontakt pro chetitskou Wikipedii]]. A ze stránky Velvyslanectví by vedly odkazy na jednotlivé kontaktní stránky/osoby.

- Ale taky by tam mělo být upozornění že vyřízení v daném jazyce může trvat delší dobu, protože daný uživatel se tady toho času nemusí vyskytovat a třeba to bude tak exotický jazyk že mu nikdo jiný nebude rozumět. Nebudem si nic nalhávat,ale angličtina je nejvíce používaný cizí jazyk. Proto je předpoklad že jí budou rozumět i wikipedisté z jiné wikipedie správný (a dohodnou se na další komunikaci v jiném jazyku jistě není problém) --Li-sung ✉ 12:08, 23. 5. 2005 (UTC)
- Ano, to je dobrý nápad, ale moc bych to nekomplikoval, oddělené stránky pro jednotlivé jazyky jsou IMHO zbytečné. Vizte třeba de:Wikipedia:Botschaft – seznam jazyků s příslušnými uživateli a odkazem na přidání zprávy do jejich diskuse je IMO ideální. --Mormegil ✉ 12:45, 23. 5. 2005 (UTC)
- No nesouhlsím s tím, že každý umí česky, kdo tu edituje, jak ukazuje minulost. Ale šoupat to na podst ránky různých jednotlivých nunciů či podkonzulů Mormegila nemá cenu, problém je mimo jiné skutečně s oznámením nového příspěvku na stránce, jak Luděk zjistil, já sám mám pár podstránek, a když tam někdo vleze, tak to vidím jenom v Posledních změnách nebo v Pronásledovaných, hláška se ale nedělá. Jedna možnost je ta, co uvádí Mormegil, druhá je pak ta, že na stránce velvyslanectví samotné se udělají sekce pro různé jazyky a každý, kdo bude tedy konzulem, si tuto stránku bude sledovat; ty sekce mají ten význam, že pokud se toho budou lidi držet, tak ve svých sledovaných stránkách hned vidím, je-li žádán velvyslanec chetitský či livonský. -jkb- ✉ 12:57, 23. 5. 2005 (UTC)
Jo, ta německá stránka je hezká, takže asi podle jejího vzoru to bude nejlepší a nejjednodušší.
A na české stránky se může cizí wikipedista dotrmácet přes interwiki. Připomínám problém s polsko-českou státní hranicí, kdy podle polských oficiálních údajů je delší než podle českých oficiálních údajů, viz Diskuse:Česko#Border with Poland (která začala tedy anglicky) - je lepší s Polákem bavit se polsky, s Němcem německy - angličtina má smysl, pokud je to téma, kdy by se do diskuse mohlo zapojit více lidí z obou stran, ale většinou jde spíš jen o nějaký dotaz. --Luděk 13:16, 23. 5. 2005 (UTC)
Sice nerad, ale vracím se ještě jednou k řešení cizojazyčných "konzulátů", i když to tu Luděk už zařídil podle de:. Toto řešení má jednu nevýhodu – pojedu-li (nebo Mormegil nebo Luděk nebo Dodo etc.) na dovolenou, musím někoho poprosit, aby se mi na diskusní stránku občas podíval a eventuálně zasáhl. Proto jsem zde nahoře navrhl udělat buď na velvyslanecké stránce jazykové podsekce nebo řešit to jazykovými podstránkami; současná nevýhoda je, že se mi to neobjeví jako "máte nové zprávy", ale to je možno řešit tak, že si příslušnou stránku dám do sledovaných, navíc tak mohou učinit i jiní a zaskočit, když jsem právě pryč (nevím, kolik lidí sleduje moji diskusní stránku nebo Dodovu atp.); a dále, takové dotazy z cizojazyčných wikipedií jsou majetkem všech, takže každý je má možnost sledovat na jedné stránce a ne u jednotlivých "konzulů", "nunciů" atp. -jkb- ✉ 12:46, 24. 5. 2005 (UTC)

Hallo, ich bin ein "Wikipedia-Fan" und zugleich Autor von mehreren historischen Artikeln, die sich vor allem mit dem Kalten Krieg und 2. Weltkrieg beschäftigen (www.studena.valka.cz). Jetzt habe ich in die Wikipedia-Enzyklopädie ein Paar meiner Artikel eingelegt. Als ich einen von den Texten eingegeben habe, habe ich die Meldung erhalten, dass ich das Copyright gebrochen habe. Image deletion
Hi there! I am en:User:ReyBrujo, and need some advice. I was going to add commons:Image:Asa Dotzler at UDESA 2007 01.jpg to the article about Asa Dotzler when found it already had an image, Soubor:Asa Dotzler.jpg. However, while the image page states it has been released under CC-BY 2.5, checking the Flickr page we can notice it is released under CC-NC-BY (non commercial), an incompatible license. Usually, in the English Wikipedia these images are speedy deleted under Improper license. Does cs.wiki have a similar speedy clause? Otherwise, how can I nominate an image for deletion? - No to "polisz". W 1421 roku zaproponowali czescy husyci, którzy po śmierci Wacława IV odrzucili sukcesyjne roszczenia Zygmunta, koronę świętego Wacława Jagiełłe. Kiedy król polski, świadom złożoności sytuacji w Czechach i jednocześnie ograniczony przez swoje stosunki do kurii, propozycję tę nie przyjął, zwrócili się czescy negocjatorzy do Witolda. Wielki książe nie odmówił wprost, ale za wiedzą Jagiełła wysłał do Czech jego bratanka/siostrzeńca Zygmunta Korybutowicza. Proč se jako anglický název pro Česko na téhle straně použivá "Czechia", nejsem jeden z lidí kteří mají problém s jménem, jen mě zajímá proč se to tu používá když to není ani oficiální jméno a ani se nepouživá jako zkrácené, ten link na EN wiki stejně přesměruje na "Czech Republic". a list of keywords
Hello,
I'm doing my project into language processing and I'm using Wikipedia. I want to use several languages in the tests, included the one of this versions. And since I need some articles to analyze I wanted to ask for your help. Precisely, some keywords I will explain now.
Actually what I am looking for is a list in your language with the names of those territories which represents an entity of speakers (therefore possible wikipedia contributors) of your language, the name its people or gentilic, and the name of the language (if it is the same language and it has a different name). These territories must be in practice independent from each others or at least be considered so by the speakers. This is the case of colonies, excolonies, other countries which historically speak the same language or minorities attached into the country next to yours.
For example, a list in english something like. "english", "england", "irish", "ireland", "scottish", "scotland", "british", "united_kingdom", "american", "united_states", "canada", "canadian", "australia", "australian", "new_zealand", "new_zealander". Probably there are some others which are not very big but I don't know cuz I'm not familiar.
If you were so kind to produce me this list, I would so appreciate it! Thank you very much!

Foundation Images Policy
Hi everyone,
I am Yosri from Malay Wikipedia. Recently I was informed by certain parties that MS Wiki need to delete any images tagged as Non-Commercial under Foundation Licensing policy. After I have done some studies, I realised that Wikipedia Foundations is moving towards allowing commercialises all images, as such they are acting on behalf of commercial company to require all images loaded with tagging Non-Commercial in all Wiki Project to be removed, including those loaded in local Wiki. You are only allowed to licenses your images under "free content", which specifically allows commercial reuse, example GDLF 1.2. Certain images is exempted under a very narrow EDP ("exemption doctrine policy") definition. If you all already aware about this, please ignore this comment. Language support group for Czech
The Wikimedia Foundation has brought together a new team of developers who are dedicated to language support. This team is to support all the languages and consequently it is not realistic to expect that the team members can provide proper support for your language. It is for this reason that we are looking for volunteers who will make up a language support team.
This language support team will be asked to provide us with information about their language. Such information may need to be provided either to us or on a website that we will indicate to you. Another activity will be to test software that will likely have an effect on the running of the MediaWiki software. We are looking for people who clearly identify their ability. Formal knowledge is definitely appreciated.

Chyba v číslovce
Dobrý den, Na Wikipedii při stránce http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jubilejn%C3%AD_zemsk%C3%A1_v%C3%BDstava_v_Praze_1891 máte fotografii s titulkem „Císař František Josef II. na Jubilejní výstavě v roce 1891“. Není snad třeba vysvětlovat, že panovník měl ve jménu číslovku jinou… Možná se vám to zdá jako maličkost, avšak právě dnes si jedna doktorka pedagogiky během své univerzitní přednášky zřejmě díky této chybě na wiki, uřízla pořádnou ostudu.. Wikimedia Polska scholarships for Wikimania 2014
Dear Colleagues, Wikimania 2014 kicks off in London, UK in just over three months. As in previous years, Wikimedia Polska, Wikimedia's local chapter from Poland, is going to fund four Wikimania scholarships for non-Polish Wikimedians from Central and Eastern Europe (including the Asian part of the former Soviet Union). Next September 12 and 13, the Asturian Wikipedia community of users will celebrate with the support of Wikimedia España Chapter the tenth anniversary of Uiquipedia, the free encyclopedia in Asturian. The events will take place in Auditorio Príncipe Felipe (Plaza La Gesta, Oviedo).
The first article in Asturian was «Zazaki», a minority language spoken in Turkey. That first edit was in July 26, 2004. Ten years later, more than 800 000 edits have been made on almost 20 000 articles, and numbers are growing every day with the work of tens of volunteers. And it doesn’t stop there: other Wikimedia projects in Asturian have developed, such as Wikicionary, Wikisource and Wikiquote. Managed by Wikimedia Foundation, all of them make part of a global movement that started in 2001 when Wikipedia started with the goal of delivering freely all human knowledge.
To commemorate this date, Uiquipedia and Wikimedia España are carrying out two days of celebration events so that the projects in Asturian are better known. Literature, poetry music and traditions in Asturian will be present. It’s free and everybody is welcome. In addition, Wikimedia España will have its annual General Assembly in Oviedo.

Wikipedia Monument - a commemorative book
Hi! On October 22, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., at the Frankfurter Platz in Słubice the Wikipedia Monument will be unveiled. We would like to give the Wikipedia community a chance to express their thanks to the originators of the Monument, i.e. the employees of Collegoun Polonicum in Słubice and the Mayor of the town, by preparing a commemorative book. The entries to the book will be collected on a dedicated polish Wikipedia page, and afterwards they will be printed and presented to the hosts of the unveiling ceremony by the representative of the WIkimedia Polska association.
If you wish to thank the originators of the idea of erecting the world's first monument to Wikipedia, add a few words of your own on this page. We will collect the entries by October 18 (Saturday), 23:59 CET.

Wikiproject Erasmus Prize Winners

Wikipedia has been awarded the Erasmus Prize 2015. This international prize is awarded annually to a person or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to culture, society or social science. The King of the Netherlands will present the award on 25 November. This will create media attention which will hopefully result in plenty of new volunteers. Prior to the award ceremony we would like to write and improve articles on former Erasmus Prize winners. All 80 former laureates should be notable enough to merit an article.

Assistance request from en.wikipedia
Greetings. I wonder if you could help with an issue on en.wiki with two Czech sportswomen. We have an article w:en:Marta Pavlisová, and an article w:en:Marta Kroutilová. Both are canoeists.
- w:en:Marta Pavlisová competed at the 1938 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. I think she later got married and adopted the name Marta Kroutilová. I think her birth-date may be 29-7-1914, according to http://stary-web.kvspraha.cz/archiv/2013/stranky/marta.htm
- w:en:Marta Kroutilová competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Our article specifies her birth date as 21-09-1925
At some point, en.wiki thought these were the same person and we merged the articles. Later, we decided that we were wrong and separated them again.
The request is that you review both articles, confirm that they are distinct people and, ideally, provide any additional information (such as confimation of the date of birth, and the appropriate maiden and married names) with pointers to reliable sources. Perhaps because of the language issue we quickly run into problems trying to add more detail to either article; or perhaps there are no good sources for the information we seek. - Hi, with reading and listening sources they are two distinct persons surely, you are right partly: Marta (nee) Pavlisová (1914–1953) got married, switching to "Pavlisová-Kohoutová", not Kroutilová, and Marta (nee) Kroutilová (1925–???) perhaps got married and adopted the name "Pavlisová", because in sources we can find her as "Kroutilová-Pavlisová".--Kacir 8. 11. 2016, 02:32 (CET)

- Just a few more sources, Tagishsimon and others. "Kdo byl kdo - čeští olympionici" encyclopaedia (Who was who - Czech Olympians) confirms the birthdate of "Helsinki's" Kroutilová (*1925). Mention also Ota Kroutil (* 1921 in Dobřichovice), both of them raced for KVS Praha and for Podolí, they almost clearly must be relatives, but no proof how. What about a chance that Kroutilová was also born Pavlisová, and in 1952 she had been already married to Kroutil...? To Ota...? (Correct order of Czech names is married-nee, with Kroutilová-Pavlisová at the Czech Olympic Committee's page it means I could be correct, but...).
- Interesting information about Marta Pavlisová (married Kohoutová someday between 1938 and 1940) was a sister of Marie, married Zvolánková (see Marie Zvolanková with incorrect spelling!), as mentioned best in the "Národní politika" newspaper (1940-07-31, p. 10). Kohoutová competed as late as in 1950. A short notice about funeral of Kohoutová is in "Rudé právo" daily 1953-08-20 (see here right bottom).
- But very little about Kroutilová (useless trivia information that she raised a Czechoslovak flag in the Helsinki Olympic village in the wake of the 1952 Olympics ;-) )... And nothing about Kroutilová being Veselá...
