Armstrong is best known as the studio guitarist for many British rock bands in the late eighties Britpop boom. Armstrong is also an accomplished songwriter and festival favourite. As a contemporary of Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Armstrong was amongst the most accomplished British rock guitarists of the 1980s-1990s, known for his chiming melodies, spiraling riffs and live solos. Now residing in the Czech Republic, Armstrong is involved in the development and backing of raw new talent, as well as songwriting and promotion work.
