  • I'm going to Jerusalem (old city) tomorrow from Tel Aviv. I've been told the best way is from Arzolov bus station. Once I'm at the Jeusalem central bus station whats the best way to get to the OLD CITY?
You go out the main doors of the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem. Cross the street and take bus #13 or #18. Ask the driver to let you off at the last stop on Shlomzion HaMalka Street. From there it is a short, pleasant stroll down to the Old City. You can walk on either side of the street, but imo it is pleasanter to approach the Old City on the left hand side of the street, with the Old City in front of you. Be aware that there is a light railway system (tram) being built through the middle of Jerusalem. The traffic is s-l-o-w and the mess l-a-r-g-e!
Before even reading what others had written I was going to suggest you walk. It is around 30 minutes, you will avoid the traffic ( and due to the light rail constuction there is PLENTY of traffic) Walking will also take you through the new city ( which isn't all that new in some parts) You will walk past Machne Yehuda ( the central market--take a 10 minute break and walk THROUGH it), down past loads of new contruction, past Ben Yehuda Mall, past the City Government complex and on to the old city. ( all while walking down Jaffa street. ( which is Re-Chov, Ya-foe in Hebrew!
