English: Old Rags Into New Cloth- Salvage in Britain, April 1942
A textile worker stands at the spinning mule. The wooden rollers are transferred from the condenser to the spinning mule which is the means of twisting and stretching, the soft threads convert into a firm strong yarn, which then ready on bobbins (foreground) from the weft and warp of the weaving mill.

The image was catalogued by the IWM as created for the Ministry of Information, which was dissolved in 1946. Consequently the image and faithful reproductions are considered Crown Copyright, now expired as the photograph was taken prior to 1 June 1957.
