English: AWM caption : "France. 1918. A projectile being prepared for firing from a 38 cm German Army rail mounted heavy gun named "Langer Max".

Comment : The Paris Gun fired shells of approximately 21 cm. The shell seen here appears closer to 38 cm. Hence its can't be the Paris Gun. This in fact appears to show the 38 cm Max gun.

Note : This version of the photograph has brightness and contrast artificially increased to highlight details.
