Historie
Deutsch: Das Wappen redet für den alten Ortsnamen Birnbaum. Die großen Früchte am Baum sind schon in einem Gerichtssiegel aus dem späten 15. Jahrhundert erkennbar. Kaiser Karl V. verlieh das Wappen dem Dorf und Gericht 1527; erst 1540 erlangte Pyrbaum den Marktstatus. Pyrbaum war Mittelpunkt einer Enklave, die zusammen mit der Enklave Sulzbürg die reichsunmittelbare Herrschaft der Wolfsteiner bildete. Bis zum 18. Jahrhundert wird der Baum immer mit Birnen gezeigt, danach fehlen die Früchte, aus dem Birnbaum wurde ein einfacher Laubbaum.
