- The family originates from Strassburg in Alsace, not from Aiud (Strassburg am Mieresch in Transylvania)
- He was not a member of the von Trauschenfels noble family. The Trausch family had two branches: a bourgeois branch (of which Franz Joseph Trausch was a member), and a noble branch "von Trauschenfels".
