Popis The U-shaped K-25 Building was built as part of World War II’s Manhattan Project. K-25 housed the world’s first gaseous diffusion plant for enriching uranium and became a key part of the industrial base supporting the nation’s nuclear weapons program. When it was built, K-25 covered 1.64 million square feet and contained more than 3,000 stages of gaseous diffusion equipment and 400 miles of piping.
